World Cinema HD Is Cablevision's HD Channel Of The Day, As Part Of The Company's Continuing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV(SM)" Countdown

Bethpage, NY (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- Cablevision Systems Corp. today is recognizing World Cinema HD as its HD Channel of the Day, as part of the ongoing "45 Days in HD, on iO TV" countdown. Available to Cablevision's iO TV customers on channel 779, World Cinema HD features the first channel dedicated exclusively to international movies, all transferred to stunning 1080i high definition and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. World Cinema HD takes viewers beyond the borders of Hollywood with some of the world's most celebrated and provocative titles in the history of motion pictures.

During the countdown, Cablevision is recognizing each of the 45 high-definition services iO customers receive at no additional cost, including all nine local professional sports teams in HD. Unlike its satellite and phone company competitors, Cablevision does not impose additional fees and charges on customers who want to "see" in HD.

In this Italian comedy a lustful, fun loving old uncle goes to live with his uptight nephew. At first the nephew is outraged by his lascivious uncle, however he soon is drawn to the old man's love of life and all its pleasures.

10:20 p.m. - THE BAD SLEEP WELL

(1960, Janus, Directed by Akira Kurosawa)

In this crime drama, director Akira Kurosawa tells the tale of a young executive on the rise within his company. As he gets closer to the top he is faced with the rampant corruption throughout the corporate world. The film is a variation on Hamlet.
